What is the line between a Christian rock group, and an ungodly rock group?

Some people say that CCM or the Christian Contemporary Ministry is evil. Now I'm definately not saying I agree, but if you never listened to Chrisian contemporary, you might be better off. the reason I say this is because it is sometmes very difficult to determine the difference between Christian Contemporary, and secular music.

Bands such as Casting Crowns, Third Day, and Chris Tomlin are part of the CCM ministry. They claim to be a Christian band and they are "sold out for Christ", but most of them don't evfen share the Gospel  on their websites. While this might be a mistake on their part, should we base our argument that they are not even Christians!?

Now, there are some bands that i believe may have started out as a Chrisian band, but ehy have backtracked. Probably, the most poplular band that this applies to is P.O.D. While they do claim to be a Christian band, they openly curse on stage. Also, P.O.D. is currently on tour with Ozzfest, whose logo is "Now Hell has a soundtrack." So, in my mind, two things are possible. Either P.O.D. has never been a Christian band, or they have seriously bactracked in their relationship with God.

As Christian artists try to keep a good message in their songs, sometimes it is hard to not fall into the same rut that secular singers portray. in my opinion, as long as these people keep God in their songs, and do not throw God out of their ministry, then they should not receive all of the negative comments that they do.

In the Bible, it says that we should first go to a person one-on-one if we see something that is wrong. Then, if they still refuse to repent, we should take people with us to confront them. Then, if they still don't repent, we should take it to the church. and then, finally, if they still don't confess, then we should treat them like we treat a pagan (nonchristian). Most people who speak out on P.O.D., or any other band, usually just go straight ahead to accusing them, and treating them like a nonchristian.

While the CCM does make compromises, that does not mean we should condemn them right from teh start. In Iphesians 4:29, it says, "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of they mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." The Bible says that we should give GRACE unto the hearers. So if we condemn them, do you think we are administering grace?

ok, this page is going to be dedicated to what i think about well......everything

Question: Is it wrong for Christians to listen to secular music???

In my opinion, this is like asking if it's okay to read secular books. Now there are many people who would give seperate answers to these questions. People could argue that the singers give a bad influence. Well, here's a question for you. A teenage boy picks up a romance novel......it doesn't take mucgh imagination to understand what he's thinking. So isn't it that the same thing? Alot of times, its hard to distinguish between whats wrong and unacceptable, and whats o.k. in today's music and literature. Bands such as Nickelback, Simple Plan, and DAUGHTRY are very popular with teenagers, but are they o.k. for christian teenagers to listen to? The famous series by J.K. Rowking, Harry Potter, is an exciting read to almost any reader, but then again, so is The Davinci Code. You can argue till times end but the fact remains that people will listen and read what is enjoyable, what feels good. But didn't Christ say himself that sin was fun? that it is enjoyable, but there again, the phrase that could stop the whole debate then and there, "but only for a season." Sin is only fun for a season. But that doesn't answer the question on whether or not it's isn in the first place! the truth is, that many, many secular artists are not what Christian young people should be listening to. Now that does not mean that we should all erase the songs on our ipod or throw away our cd's, and replace them with hymns (nothing against hymns, because I love to listen to them). But in the Bible, it says that if we call to God, He will give us the desires of our heart.  Now, there again, that doesn't mean  that God is going to give us a mansion and Jaguars in our driveways. What it means is that if we confess our sin, and we ask God to give us the desires of our heart, he weill begin to take away the old desires(secular music/books,ect...) and replace them with new desires so we can live a better and more fulfilling life.

Christians and drinking......

Question: Is it okay for Christians to drink alchohol?

I really won't write alot about this topic because well, I'm a teenager and I don't know much about it. But what I do know is that the Bible says to keep your body the Temple of the Holy Ghost. But there are some gray areas. Now, if you ask any real Christian if it's okay to get drunk evfer Friday night, they'll say of course not. But if you ask if it's okay to have a glass of wine at dinner, they might hesitate a little in their answer.

Now for me, personally, I would never drink, EVER, uner any circumstances. Why? Because I don't know how my body would react to it. For all I know, I could become an alchoholic after my first sip. And for people who know that they would become addicted, I would strongly advise (although I don't know why anyone would want to take my advice since I'm only a teenager,) that they stay far far away from any type of alchohol. But if you ask me if it's wrong to have a glass of wine on your wedding day, (thats just and example) I will tell you the honest truth.....I don't know. I really don't. As I said before, I'm a teenager, and I barely know anything on the consumption of alchohol. but what I do know is that if you really want to know what's right or wrong, just ask God. Pray to Him He is so much more knowledgable than even our smartest scientists! god is omnicient (all-knowing), He can and will give you all the answers you need if you will only ask  Him. Don't go by what you feel, we're human! Our point of view is twisted and warped by our own sinful nature. So if you want true answers, don't ask me, or even a preacher, just ask God.

Should the U.S. pull out of Iraq because we don't want to lose any more soldiers?

Many people believe that since so many American soldiers are being killed, that we should immedietly pull out of Iraq. What I believe is hat if we pull out of Iraq before they have a stasbe government and a good army, than all that iwll happen is that the terrorist regime will take back control and continue to harass the U.S. The terrorists main goal is to rid the world of Israel, and to completely destroy the U.S. If we pull out now, the war isn't going to stop. there will be another attack of U.S. soil like 9/11. Has everyone completely forgotten that?!All I'm saying is that if we pull out of Iraq too early, then they will come over here. The only way we can pull out of Iraq is if we establish a stable government over there and let ehem handle it. Now there will dome a certain point in which if the Iraquis cannot have a strong enough army, and if they just don't want it enough, then we will have had given them too much time, and we will have to pull out. But deciding when that point is, is crucial. If we leave too early, then the terrorists will only take back control. But if we leave too late, then to many soldiers will be killed. But if we pull out now (and I do think that now is too early), then all the soldier's lives will be in vain. They would have died for a cause taht we are too scared to finish! No, we should stay in Iraq unitl htey can hold their own, whenever God decides to let that be.
